Binning Change on Camera Used

A higher number Binning is better. A 2 X 2 binning could bring out a weaker object on the image where 1 X 1 would not. The earliest pictures were 341 X 341 pixels. The old camera (ST8E) could do 1530 X 1020 maximum. The new camera (Dream Machine) can do 1024 X 1024 pixels. This site

says Dream machine Pixel size is 24 microns vs 9 microns with old camera. Page shows old camera with .52 arc seconds per pixel / 9 microns. New camera 1.38 arc sec per pixel / 24 microns. They are identical in how many arc seconds are in each pixel. The new camera has bigger pixels so that would make it less condensed. Field of view in arc minutes on new camera at 1024 X 1024 is about 2 1/2 times height, 2 times width vs old camera at 341 X 341. [Below is] a comparison of sizes 512 X 512 to 1024 X 1024.
